Cosas que hacer en sábado cuando no estás muerto

--Diez años después de su última película, Coppola se pone experimental.

--Da la impresión de que Ridley Scott está ordeñando "Blade Runner". Y aunque es cierto que Orson Welles no es ni de lejos el único director al que los productores han destrozado una película, siempre he pensado que las imposiciones de los que firmaban los cheques de la mítica película de Scott no fueron tan deplorables como a la crítica le gusta decir. Sin embargo, aquí hay alguien que ha visto la última versión del film, Blade Runner: The Final Final Final Final Cut, y cree que ha merecido la pena. Entre otras cosas, por la célebre idea de que Deckard es en realidad otro replicante. Scott comentó recientemente qué es lo que le faltaba a la película en su primera versión:

“Gaff [Edward James Olmos], at the end, doesn't like Deckard, and we don't really know why,” said Ridley, after being asked whether it was on paper that Deckard was a replicant. “And if you take for granted for a moment that, let's say, Deckard is Nexus 7, he probably has an unknown life span and therefore is starting to get awfully human. Gaff, just at the very end, leaves a piece of origami, which is a piece of silver paper you might find in a cigarette packet. And it's of a unicorn, right? So, the unicorn that's used in Deckard's daydream tells me that Deckard wouldn't normally talk about such a thing to anyone. If Gaff knew about that, it's Gaff's message to say, ‘I've basically read your file, mate.’”

--Una errata en The Guardian. Así cualquiera:

The photographs we used to illustrate an article about the uncanny similarity between images of the moon sent back by a Chinese lunar probe and those taken by Nasa two years ago were actually identical. We mistakenly ran the Nasa picture twice.

Y como es habitual por estas fechas, Regret the Error ofrece las mejores (o peores, según se mire) erratas del año. Mi favorita:

A report “From Bombay to Rajasthan” (“Newscape” page, January 8, 2007) stated that actor Elizabeth Hurley will wear “a 4,000-pound [1.800 kilos] sari by designer Tarun Tahiliani” during her wedding in March. While one reader wondered how she would be able to lift the 1,800 kg sari, another reader said there are possible fears about the bride being reduced to pulp by its weight. It was an error. The word “pound” was used instead of the currency symbol for pound sterling (£).

--Rosa Montero es tonta y Casciari lo sabe. Bueno, en realidad, lo sabíamos todos desde hace tiempo. Aún recuerdo el cabreo que se pilló cuando no entendió el final de "Twin Peaks". Resulta singular que alguien que tenga tan pocas luces se pase la vida alardeando de ello.

--No recordaba que alguien había descubierto las últimas palabras de "Lost in Traslation".

--Ideas creativas para combatir el terrorismo, según South Park.

--Maltratar a los guionistas es una tradición en el cine.
