Wikileaks desnuda a los gobiernos de Oriente Medio
Los documentos de Wikileaks son una pieza fundamental para examinar lo que realmente piensan los gobiernos de Oriente Medio. Aquí van algunos ejemplos.
Me da que los medios de comunicación de Yemen no van a rescatar esta frase del presidente del país en sus conversaciones con el general Petraeus:

El rey saudí tiene algunos problemas de comprensión sobre los límites de la tecnología. Quería implantar chips a los presos de Guantánamo en el momento en que fueran liberados:

El rey debe de pensar que con Bluebooth puedes seguir el rastro de alguien a kilómetros de distancia. Un punto para el diplomático norteamericano por no reírse al escuchar el consejo.

El director del Mossad, Meir Dagan, se muestra a favor de la ayuda militar de EEUU a los países árabes del Golfo Pérsico en una reunión en el Departamento de Estado:
Turning to the Gulf Security Dialogue (GSD), Dagan said that enhancing the capabilities of the Gulf states "is the right direction to go," especially as they are afraid of Iran. Such a U.S. commitment will be a stabilizing factor in the region. Dagan clarified that he would not oppose U.S. security assistance to America's Arab partners. He expressed concern, nevertheless, about the current policies of those partners -- especially with regards to Syria and Iran. Dagan added that if those countries must choose between buying defensive systems from the U.S. or France, then he would prefer they buy systems from the U.S., as this would bring them closer to the U.S.----

Ya se sabe. Los países del Tercer Mundo están llenos de gente que miente a diferencia de los políticos norteamericanos, que siempre dicen la verdad.

Mi reacción favorita a la difusión de los documentos de Wikileaks es la del ministro italiano de Exteriores: "It will be the September 11th of world diplomacy". Será que aparecen testimonios sobre las fiestas de Berlusconi.

Lo que me parece más increíble es el número tan elevado de políticos, gobernantes y funcionarios de todos los países que pasan por la embajada de EEUU a confesarse con el embajador correspondiente. Me cuesta creer que políticos y gobernadores de EEUU se citen con el embajador de España, de Francia o de Arabia Saudí, a comentar temas internos de su país, y menos temas reservados. Eso en EEUU se sería considerado “traición” mientras que en los demás países se denomina colaboración aliada.
