Mientras esperaba para coger un avión, Andrew Exum se quedó pasmado al ver cómo Glenn Beck adoctrinaba en Fox News a sus espectadores. La selección en Twitter de los mejores fragmentos no tiene desperdicio:

The Glenn Beck Show is now all about why you should fear the Muslim Brotherhood. Or maybe just Muslims. I can't tell.
Oh, now he's linking communists and socialists with the Muslim Brotherhood. This is all the Leftist conspiracy against the West for Beck.
Oh, yes! Now Glenn Beck is talking about the evils of social justice. This would probably really confuse Jesus Christ.
Seriously, I'm sitting with 20 people in the Jacksonville, NC airport, and we are all watching Glenn Beck, growing dumber together. America!
Glenn Beck: "The entire Mediterranean is on fire!" ... Europe "becomes a Muslim caliphate!" Well, better than the Holy Roman Empire, surely.
Glenn Beck urging his viewers to prepare for this nightmare scenario! "Don't get caught!" And now a commercial to buy gold. Ha! Perfect!
That was classic! Glenn Beck just scared his viewers shitless and then cut straight to a commercial for gold.
Y de esta ración de idioteces, teorías de la conspiración, mentiras y terroríficos pronósticos, se compone la dieta informativa diaria de muchos norteamericanos.
Veámoslo por el lado positivo. Hace un año, su programa en Fox News estaba cerca de los tres millones de espectadores. Ahora casi no llega a los dos millones. En cualquier caso, son muchas personas comprando oro y haciendo acopio de armas y latas de comida para guardarlas en el sótano antes de que llegue el Armagedón.

Bastante aplicable a las noticias sobre economía de público. La conspiración de los banqueros, los planes ocultos, el fin de todo sistema de protección social si gobierna el PP. En fin, que uno a veces se sorprende de lo ciegos que son algunos periodistas para lo que quieren.

Es lógico que se preocupen. Imagínate que triunfa la revuelta y Egipto se convierte en una democracia en cuyo parlamento haya partidos religiosos extremistas con los que tenga que pactar el gobierno. ¡Lo nunca visto en Oriente Medio!
