El Capitán América, al servicio de Netanyahu
La portada del suplemento de fin de semana del diario israelí Maariv pone a Obama en el terreno de los superhéroes sionistas, por decirlo de alguna manera. Mientras en EEUU los republicanos claman indignados por el supuesto abandono de Israel, allí ya saben que el discurso de Obama ante la ONU ha sido una excelente noticia para el Gobierno de Netanyahu.
[Por cierto, si un diario europeo o árabe le estampara una estrella de David en el pecho a Obama, no tardarían mucho las acusaciones de antisemitismo. Pero ése es otro asunto.]
Y no es sólo el discurso. Se ha sabido que Obama vendió en secreto a Israel bombas con capacidad de penetrar en búnkers, los mismos explosivos que Bush se negó a enviar porque la intención de los israelíes es emplearlas en un hipotético ataque al programa nuclear iraní. La entrega se produjo en 2009 pero no se había hecho pública.
No es que eso afecte a la política de Netanyahu y su capacidad de aceptar las peticiones norteamericanas en relación a las negociaciones con los palestinos o la expansión de los asentamientos. En ese punto es Netanyahu el que da las órdenes y Obama el que las cumple.

Mahmud Abás presentó ayer en la ONU la petición del reconocimiento de Palestina como Estado soberano por la ONU. Una comisión la ha recibido y tiene cuatro semanas para decidir si la eleva al Consejo de Seguridad, aunque podría solicitar una prórroga.

La respuesta de Netanyahu fue la esperada. La mayor potencia militar y económica de Oriente Medio vive bajo un estado de permanente zozobra, tan amenazada ahora como en décadas anteriores. El primer ministro israelí sostiene que Israel está a favor de la paz, pero después detalla todas las circunstancias que en la práctica convierten esa paz en una quimera inalcanzable.

Presencié ambos discursos en directo por televisión y tengo que reconoce que Netanyahu es un orador eficaz, más quizás que Abu Mazen. le escuchabas y si no fuera por que sabes que la mayoria de sus argumentos son verdades a media, las peores y más dañinas, te convencería.

Qué vergüenza. Bibi desde luego no tiene ninguna, pero me gustaría pensar que algunos de los que le votaron, sí.
Y Obama... por dios, ¿es que ningún demócrata va a montarle unas primarias a este monigote de Wall Street y el lobby judío?.
Cuando salga la carambola y triunfe Perry en 2012, nos vamos a reir.

¿Cuánto poder tenía Spitzer, por poner otro ejemplo?.
Pian, pian, si va lontan; pero como incomodes a demasiados poderosos a la vez, ahí se acaba el cuento.
El hombre está jugando con el sistema a ver si puede, no domar a la Bestia, que Nixon creyó que podía, sino empujarla unos centímetros al menos, donde haga algo menos de daño a la gente decente. Saludos.
