Umm Omar was told that her friend Rasha, also detained, would be executed if she didn't confess. Rasha later used her hijab to hang herself.

Several prisoners were beaten to death during 'welcome party' beatings. Another was beaten to death after saying he had breathing problems.

In another incident, six prisoners were beaten to death. Guards then began beating 14 other men. "They all died within a week", said Salam.
